Stretch of the Week: Practice being of service to others.
“I’ll never forget the first time I met Bill Wilson. I was a couple of months sober and so excited, so thrilled to actually meet the co-founder that I gushed all over him with what my sobriety meant to me and my undying gratitude for his starting A.A. When I ran down, he took my hand in his and said simply, Pass it on. (1984, AAWS, Inc., ‘Pass It On,’ page 7)
This week: notice when you have the urge to manipulate someone in order to get what you want or if you are afraid of losing what you have. Stop. Do the opposite behavior. Try turning around your self-seeking behavior and practice being absolutely loving. How were you of service to others this week?
Notice when you have the urge to gossip or slander another person. Before you say it: Resist. Stop. Do the opposite action by saying or doing something kind or loving for that person instead. What did you do this week that was loving and kind towards others?
Please share your experiences with the group.
