“…we pause, when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action.” (p.87)
We constantly remind ourselves that we are no longer running the show, humbly saying to ourselves many times each day ‘Thy will be done.’” (p.87)
Stretch 1:
Practice looking for the good in your life when faced with a difficult situation:
- What did you gain from that situation?
- What good did you experience in that difficult moment?
- What do you have to be grateful for in that trying moment?
Stretch 2:
Have a phrase or positive affirmation to practice feeling grateful and to have constant contact with God.
Use this phrase when facing a difficult or uncomfortable situation. Examples: this too shall pass; One day at a time.
Mega stretch of the week:
Spend 1 hour writing down everything that you have to be grateful for. Then, add 1 new blessing a day thereafter.
Goal: to be conscious of all your blessings in order to appreciate a new blessing that comes your way.
